Hello everyone,

My name is Graham and I am a relative newcomer to the world of woodlands. I currently make icecream on a fruit farm in Suffolk, but over the past few months I have developed a yearning to be amongst the trees. I have begun by starting to manage the small wet woodland which is situated on the farm. it is an Alder Carr from which the farm takes it's name (Alder Carr Farm)

What I would really love to do is earn a living from managing overstood coppice woodland to increase biodiversity. The timber can be sold locally and also turned into charcoal for sale through our farm shop and others. I would dearly love to own my own coppice woodland, and will be working towards this goal for the forseable future. I am also looking for an excuse to buy one of those mini tractors that look a lot of fun.

I very much look forward to comparing notes with you all.
