Hi everyone

a quick introduction from Dave Taylor

We bought Misty Wood (21 Acres in North Wales) last August 07

It is predominantly broad-leaved (Beech and Ash) with areas of Douglas Fir and Scots pine. We (wife-Jackie- and two children Hannah-11 Victoria-8) have done quite a bit of work so far- siting a caravan, putting up rope swings, creating useful paths etc etc

Jackie and myself have had careers in nature conservation but left that field some years ago, we now run a business from home www.magmaeffect.com

Misty wood is our escape!!!

We are hoping to set up a business for misty wood so we can sell some of our timber and other products

I attended a Mike Abbott course last year and jackie came with me on a charcoal making course recently. We have also invested in a portable saw-mill (logosol)

We hope to start a blog soon and share our experiences (good and bad!!!)

Welcome Dave, great to have you here. I will edit your post slightly to make your link work - the comma seems to be a problem.

We will be very interested to hear about you get on with it all, especially the logosol as we are looking into getting ones soon.
