Hello

Having read the forums since last year I felt it is time to actually say hi. We bought a cottage (in a run down state) last December which came with 4.5acres of mixed broadleaf and conifer trees in Cheshire. Since we took ownership I've not been able to do anything with the woods as all my time has been spent making the cottage habitable. We have a real project on our hands. We have planning permission to build a new house on the land and as it's on a hill it'll have its own challenges. Fortunately only one tree needs to be felled.
There were 6 old wooden sheds and an old mobile home on the land which all need to go. The first job will be the groundworks and build a oak framed garage with a room above it for my office. The main house build will then start in a couple of years once I've sorted finance etc.
It was a shame when a few trees got blown down over the Christmas/New Year period in those high winds. At least there's some firewood waiting to be it for the winter.
Any hints and tips are greatly welcome.

Hope you're all enjoying your woods.
Steve
