I am on the verge of opening up one of the woods for use as a "Bushcraft" campsite. You know, shelter building, sleeping in hammocks, small fires and all the other Ray Mears type activities.

I don't want people just c**ping where ever they feel like it as we are still working the woods with Brush-cutters and Flail mowers. We are lucky in that there are no dry stone walls as people seem to take the stones and place them on top of their "offerings"

I;m hoping that some one on the forum could point me towards a good design and/or plans for a outside non-flush bog. There is no water or power on site

There was a great article in Living Woods magazine on building a tree bog, last issue i think. If you've not already subscribed, I would highly recommend doing so.

We use what is basically a big bucket with a seat in a small tent - chuck in some dry leaves after each use. Photo - http://s538.photobucket.com/albums/ff347/greyfox_kjw/NaturalPathways/?action=view&current=0620CompostLoo.jpg

Contents are buried within the active soil layer, i.e. just a few inches deep where the bacteria will quickly break everything down. Alternatively just provide a shovel and the bushcraft participants bury their own, again not too deep. Burial sites are marked with an 'X' which does not indicate treasure! Incidentally, medicated toilet paper won't break down very quickly as the medication protects it from bacteria.

If you are a big fan of paperwork, the Environment Agency exemption is:
