Pond....and trailers

Camp fires, shelters, wild food, making things, children and more....

Im looking to dig a wildlife pond over July..

My father has two mini diggers 1.5 ND 3.5 TONNES AND HE HAS VOLUNTEERED TO DIG (THINK HE JUST WANTS TO PLAY WITH A LARGE TOY REALLY). pROBLEM I HAVE IS TRANSPORTING IT FROM SUSSEX HOME TO SUSSEX WOOD.

Does anyone know where i can hire a cheap trailer, either that or im digging by hand which might kill me and that would nullify any insurance on the basis of stupidity.

im praying there is water or else i will have a big hole....

Its on clay....and up to a couple of weeks ago the ground was still soft though no lying water....im banking on the surface water flowng off the small hill and the genearl east west slant of the wood.

if not i hope rain water will fill it over time....anyone dug a hole and had no water thus resorting to burying their wife in it,,,... just a thought.

BTCV has a great guide on pond creation, worth a read: and I think burying your wife needs planning permission ;-)
