Postby coppiceer » Fri Jun 14, 2013 4:05 pm

I am planning to attend the woodfair at Bentley Park this year. Could anyone recommend accommadation within a 15-mile radius of the fair please?

Thanks in anticipation.

Sorry I can't help you re accommodation but can somebody tell me how far is Bentley Park from Gatwick Airport and what transport links are available or how much would a taxi cost in each direction? I am thinking of flying in on the Saturday morning and out again that evening. Then again I may stay for a night or two with a relative in London so how might I get from London to the site or vice versa?

It's a little under 30 miles.

Thanks, Simon. Now what is the best way to get there if I stay in London?

Train, either from Victoria to Lewes, or from London Bridge to Uckfield, then a taxi to Bentley.

Don't they do some camping at Bentley?

There is camping is just for exhibitors, but this isn't extended to the public.

There are quite a few campsites in the area

In my posts last June I was not aware there is a rail link from Gatwick to Lewes for as low as £12.50 return pre booked and a free shuttle bus from Lewes to the woodfair. Is this correct?

Bit confused about the entry price. The Bentley website says it is £10 but the SWOG discount voucher says 20% discount £14 normal price & £12 discounted.

Steve the confused.

Hi Steve,
Yeah that is confusing! and I am now because I had a conversation with Paul Webster about the prices less than a week ago and cofirmed them as per the SWOG discount letter.
I'll check with him what's going on.

Rich the also confused!
