Confor and small woodland owners

Confor is a membership organisation that promotes sustainable forestry and timber production through political engagement, market promotion and supporting members. Recognising that small woodland owners have an important part to play in forestry management, Confor is keen to hear from owners and to support them where possible. Their website provides an excellent overview of their work. In February Confor’s magazine, Forestry and Timber News discussed the challenges of woodland management in small woods. It can be viewed or downloaded here.

Membership of Confor costs £99 a year (with a pro-rata price, as a membership year is October – October).

The membership includes

  • 6 hard copies of FTN
  • Free entry to APF
  • Free half an hour of helplines (legal, pesticides, taxation)
  • Participation in events
  • Representation and a voice! They can talk to their National Manager or myself for comms and make sure their voice is heard within the sector. We listen to any suggestions coming from our members
  • We are currently working on a new membership benefit to do with insurance

Free magazine samples can be requested (no bulk please)
