Jan 28 My new saw mill, by Adrian in Aberdeen
I want to build everything from now on using wind blown wood , to that end I recently bought this ‘Alaskan mini mill’ to convert the wood to timber .
You get a wee jig to hold the saw and locate it on the rails, the rails are screwed to a straight piece of timber, the straight timber is screwed to the log and your ready to cut.
It works really well and I was impressed about how ‘square’ and straight the timber ended up certainly good enough for my rustic joinery. ( I had to make a fire wood store for home)
I’ve also got the ‘Alaskan mill III’ for slabbing the larger trees, however I can’t yet afford the big saw to run it !!
