Knowlands Wood
Many thanks to Nick and Harriet for opening their stunning woodland in Barcombe to SWOG members. Nick has been managing it for wildlife for over 30 years and it truly is an amazing and diverse haven for birds, butterflies and many other woodland creatures, including ourselves on this wonderful spring day!
The forth West Weald Landscape Project e-newsletter makes an interesting read, particularly for those in the west weald area.
A wooden performance from the PM!
Thanks to Greyman for sending in this picture actually taken at Petworth house. He thinks it bears a distinct resemblance to a certain political figure of yesteryear. I think it’s more like one of those iguanodons now extinct, maybe we are both right.
If anyone’s got any other unusal photos taken in their woods or elsewhere, send them in and we’ll put up a gallery, maybe hold a caption competion!
