As you know we are considering some ideas for SWOG T shirts, mugs etc. We need something that would sum us up! Heather has scribbled together a few ideas to get us started. I like them! Bearing in mind though, that our logo is not recognisable, (like McDonalds) do we need to be more obvious? Like the logo at the top of the screen?

A few swog members recently went to an seminar on woodfuel, and took part in the discussion. Here are some notes from the day. Very interesting to skim through if you are interested in this kind of thing. We did mention the complexities of TPO’s and woodland management too!

Gower wildlife have come up with an excellent way of keeping a record of their sightings, a blog for many to add to.

Along the lines of the “one hand clapping” question, can a place be beautiful if you are unable to see it? Improving access to the woods has been one of our main objectives from the start. Almost two years after we took ownership, and despite a lot of hard work, there are still a few places we have been unable to access.

I love getting magazines in the post. I enjoy Living Woods, Smallwoods and the RFS Quarterly Journal of Forestry. This edition of the QJF had a short article in it that has had me thinking all week! With the RFS kind permission to copy it, here it is, written by Grumpy Old Forester. Comments on the forum….
