We have evidence of a number of Wild Boar in our woodland in East Sussex, and I know many more of us are lucky to have them in our woods.
I have been doing some reading about them.
Did you know that after the boar have been digging up your beautiful bluebells, you are likely to get more bluebells the next year?
Did you know that they can be: Black, brown, white, albino, spotted or a mixture of all of those colours?
Our very own Bryan Bullen is leading a Fungi ID walk in the Woods at the Woodland Enterprise Centre in Flimwell on the 4th October.
A Tree Preservation Order (TPO) makes it an offence to “cut down, top, lop, uproot, wilfully damage or wilfully destroy” a tree under the protection of an order without the planning authority’s permission (Town and Country Planning (Trees) Regulations 1999). It may be applied to those trees that are considered to make a significant contribution to their environment. It can apply to a single tree or woodlands, and trees within conservation areas. It does not apply to hedges, shrubs or bushes (but does cover hedgerow trees).
